The government has changed the fee for processing both the lasting power of attorney for Property & Finance and Health & Welfare. The fee has been reduced from £110 to £82.
Applicants can still apply for an exemption or reduction from the fee. If you are in receipt of a passport benefit there is no fee to be paid and a reduction of half can be made if the donor has a limited income. More information on this can be found on the government website.
To apply for a reduction or exemption from the power of attorney fees, the LPA120 form must be completed and the relevant proof of means/benefit provided.
The timescale for registration is still between 8-10 weeks depending on the time of year, and you can expect slightly longer over the Christmas period.
